JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title:
Assistant Academic/Co-Curricular Activity Coach
Responsible To:
Principal
Basic Function:
Assist coaches in various high school, middle school, or elementary school programs.
Performance Responsibilities:
Assist head coach in daily and long-range academic or co-curricular activities.
Assist head coach in planning the academic or co-curricular program.
Conduct learning experiences under the direction of the head coach, with small groups of students.
Assist head coach in guiding participants toward a harmonious team spirit.
Assist in providing escort assistance and supervision during periods of team travel or while participating in competition or co-curricular events (home and away).
Recommend to the head coach the purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student participants.
Attend all required trainings/meetings.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal or head coach.
Knowledge of:
Fundamentals of the co-curricular event/activity.
Health and safety regulations.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Ability to:
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations and policies.
Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of and experience with the co-curricular activity to be coached or coordinated.
Experience with coaching or work with students in extra-curricular/co-curricular teams,
preferred.
Terms of Employment:
Salary and work year/season to be determined by the board of education.
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated based on board policy and best practices.
