Job Description

Position Summary

The coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising student participants in an assigned extracurricular activity or program. The position promotes student development, appropriate conduct, teamwork, skill development, and compliance with district policies and applicable organizational rules and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are representative and may not include all responsibilities assigned to the position:

Organize and supervise practices, meetings, events, and related activities

Provide appropriate instruction, guidance, and supervision to student participants

Promote positive student behavior, citizenship, and sportsmanship/conduct

Maintain compliance with district policies, procedures, and applicable governing body regulations

Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration

Monitor student eligibility and participation requirements as applicable

Ensure appropriate supervision and safety of students during all activities

Maintain equipment, materials, and facilities associated with the program

Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development activities

Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by administration

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience working with students preferred

Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead students effectively

Knowledge of the assigned activity or program

Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members

Must meet all district employment requirements, including criminal background checks and required trainings

Physical Demands

The position may require:

Standing and walking for extended periods

Lifting and carrying equipment or materials

Travel to events and activities

Work outside normal school hours, including evenings and weekends

Terms of Employment

Position is supplemental/extra service in nature

Compensation based on the district-approved stipend or salary schedule

Length of assignment determined by the district and activity schedule

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policy and administrative procedures.
