Mercer County Senior High School is seeking an energetic, dedicated, and experienced Dance Coach to lead and develop its high school dance program. The coach will be responsible for training student dancers, creating engaging choreography, and preparing the team for performances at school events and competitions. This position plays a key role in promoting school spirit, teamwork, and student growth through the art of dance.Key Responsibilities:
Plan and lead regular dance practices and conditioning sessions Choreograph routines for pep rallies, athletic events, competitions, and community performances Teach proper dance techniques, safety, and performance skills Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team environment Coordinate schedules, uniforms, music, and performance logistics Supervise students during practices, events, and travel Collaborate with school staff, athletic departments, and administration Ensure compliance with school and district policiesQualifications:
Previous dance coaching, teaching, or professional dance experience preferred Strong knowledge of various dance styles (e.g., jazz, hip-hop, pom, contemporary) Ability to motivate, mentor, and manage high school students Excellent communication and organizational skills Availability for after-school practices, evening events, and occasional travel CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Preferred Attributes:
Experience with competitive dance teams Strong leadership and team-building skills Passion for student development and performing artsPosition Type:
