$25.00 per hour About MaxPro Hockey Club MaxPro Hockey Club is a youth hockey development program focused on high-level skill development, strong fundamentals, and creating a competitive, positive training environment for young athletes. We are currently looking to add On-Ice Assistant Coaches to our coaching staff for the 2026-2027 hockey season. This is a flexible, part-time coaching opportunity running from September through March . Coaches may work regularly in our weekly Skills Training program and/or assist with additional MaxPro programming throughout the season.Coaching opportunities may include:
- Weekly Skills Training sessions
- Masterclasses
- Specialty clinics
- School holiday clinics
- Winter Break programs
- February vacation programs
- Other single-day and multi-day clinics Coaches are not required to be available for every program or every date.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting the lead coach with on-ice Skills Training sessions, Masterclasses, and clinics
- Demonstrating drills and hockey skills clearly and at a high level
- Working directly with players on skating, puck handling, shooting, passing, positioning, and overall skill development
- Providing individual instruction, corrections, and encouragement
- Helping manage stations, small groups, drill rotations, and transitions
- Keeping players engaged and maintaining an efficient pace throughout each session
- Reinforcing the objectives and teaching points established by the lead coach
- Helping maintain a safe, positive, disciplined, and competitive training environment
- Working collaboratively with other members of the MaxPro coaching staff
- Representing MaxPro Hockey Club professionally both on and off the ice Qualifications We are looking for coaches with a strong hockey background who enjoy working with youth players and are comfortable in a fast-paced training environment.
Preferred candidates will have:
- Competitive hockey playing experience
- Strong skating ability and the ability to demonstrate skills and drills on the ice
- A strong understanding of hockey fundamentals and player development
- Previous coaching or experience working with youth athletes preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with players and fellow coaches
- A positive, energetic, and professional approach to coaching
- Reliability and punctuality
- Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a coaching team
- Willingness to complete required background screening
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred, but not required Current and former junior, college, and professional hockey players with an interest in coaching are encouraged to apply.
