Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic sports program as a Boys Basketball Assistant Coach and play a vital role in developing young athletes' skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship! This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant athletic community, support student-athletes' growth, and foster a love for basketball. As an energetic and dedicated team player, you will assist in coaching practices, games, and team activities while promoting positive behavior and sportsmanship. Your experience in sports coaching, working with children, and leadership will help inspire the next generation of basketball players. Duties Assist the head coach in planning and executing basketball practices, drills, and game strategies to enhance player development. Support team leadership by motivating players, encouraging teamwork, and promoting a positive team environment. Help manage game-day operations including player rotations, equipment setup, and maintaining sportsmanship during competitions. Contribute to behavior management by fostering discipline, respect, and focus among student-athletes. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff regarding team schedules, progress, and upcoming events. Support the implementation of sports-specific training instruction such as shooting techniques, defensive skills, and conditioning exercises. Qualifications Prior experience coaching basketball or other sports teams; basketball expertise is essential. Demonstrated ability to work with children or students in a coaching or teaching capacity. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with players, parents, and staff. Knowledge of behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct on and off the court. Experience working in sports programs is highly desirable(AAU, Camps, etc) Ability to lead by example with enthusiasm, energy, and a commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment. This position is ideal for passionate individuals eager to make a meaningful impact through sports coaching while gaining valuable experience working with young athletes.
