Salary:
$10,000/season Milton Academy is an independent college preparatory K-12 school, boarding and day in grades 9-12, located just outside of Boston. Summary of Position:
Milton Academy is in search of a Varsity Softball Head Coach for the spring of 2027. The season runs from mid March through May. Knowledge of the sport of softball is required and previous softball coaching experience is preferred and the new head coach must be able to work with and communicate effectively with high school aged students. The head coach is responsible for planning for practices and games and has the ability to attract players into the program. The coach must also follow all directives from the Milton Academy athletic department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Recruit and retain students into program . Collaborate with assistant coaches and delegate responsibilities as appropriate. Follow all safety practices and Academy policies as outlined in the school's Student Handbook and Coaches Handbook, including the policy against hazing and bullying. Must have a calm, composed demeanor at all times. Follow through with directives from the athletic department.

Previous softball coaching experience.
Preferred:
Experience as a head coach of a high school softball program and a background in private, independent school athletics.
Competencies Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated computer expertise, including proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies. ? Understanding of confidentiality and related issues. Receptive to supervision and professional development. Desire to be a part of a dynamic educational community.
Physical Abilities Required:
Must be able to work at a computer for up to 8 hours each day in conjunction with OSHA requirements. Must be able to move around the Milton Academy campus without restriction.
