Position Summary:
The Middle School Soccer Coach is responsible for instructing student-athletes in the fundamentals of Soccer while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. The coach provides leadership during practices and games and creates a safe, positive, and inclusive environment that supports student development both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and lead developmentally appropriate practices focusing on soccer fundamentals
Coach games while emphasizing effort, sportsmanship, and fair play
Teach and reinforce positive character traits such as respect, responsibility, and teamwork
Ensure the safety and supervision of student-athletes at all practices, games, and team events
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents/guardians, and school administrators
Enforce school, district, and league rules, policies, and eligibility requirements
Monitor and support appropriate student behavior consistent with school expectations
Maintain equipment and uniforms; assist with inventory and field setup as needed
Model professionalism, ethical conduct, and positive role modeling at all times
Qualifications:
Experience playing and/or coaching Soccer (youth or middle school level preferred)
Ability to work effectively with middle school-aged students
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and safety procedures
Commitment to supporting the academic and social development of student-athletes
CPR/First Aid certification and NFHS Concussion Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Completion of required background checks and coaching certifications
Time Commitment:
Practices held after school (up to 2.5 hours a day)
Games during the week (up to 2 hours)
