SUMMARY Required Qualifications:
Previous successful coaching experience Commitment to professional growth Ability to accept responsibilities outside the team as they relate to the school and community Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues Excellent oral and written communication skills MIAA Certified coach; (or certifiable) NF Fundamentals of coaching course First Aid, CPR certification NF Sport Specific course or equivalent license CORI and SORI Has knowledge and background in the assigned sport. Education background desirable Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To): Attends all practices and games Complies with school and MIAA policies and regulations Complies with school and Conference/League policies and regulations Works cooperatively with the school staff Cooperates with Assistant Athletic Director and the head coach to submit rosters, equipment lists and bus lists Relates positively to parents and other community representatives Completes required records and reports with promptness and accuracy Assumes responsibility for care of equipment and facilities Assumes responsibility for a safe environment for student athletes Models positive behaviors, especially with regard to sportsmanship and the alcohol, tobacco and drug rules Meets with the head coach for an evaluation at the end of the season Maintains and inventories all equipment and supplies Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the students Responsible for implementing "other job-related duties" as needed
Work Environment & Physical Requirements :
Work Environment:
Majority of work is performed in a school/classroom environment. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate .
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the coach is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The coach is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel. The teacher is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Must have sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building.
