About the Position Burke's is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced All-Star Cheerleading & Tumbling Coach to join our cheerleading programs. We are looking for a coach who is passionate about working with young athletes and helping them develop their tumbling, stunting, cheerleading, and performance skills in a positive and encouraging environment. The ideal candidate has previous experience as an All-Star cheerleading coach, competitive cheerleader, gymnast, or tumbling coach and is confident teaching and spotting athletes at a variety of skill levels. At Burke's, our coaches play an important role in building confident athletes while creating an environment where athletes can work hard, have fun, and be proud of their progress. Responsibilities Coach All-Star cheerleading practices, tumbling classes, clinics, and other programs as assigned Lead athletes through safe and effective warm-ups, conditioning, drills, and skill progressions Teach proper cheerleading technique, including motions, jumps, tumbling, stunting, and performance skills Teach tumbling skills from beginner through advanced levels based on coaching experience and qualifications Safely spot tumbling skills and use appropriate skill progressions Follow established practice and lesson plans while keeping athletes engaged and progressing Assist with routine development, choreography, transitions, and tumbling sections Prepare athletes and teams for competitions, showcases, and performances Provide corrections and feedback in a positive, age-appropriate manner Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, accountability, and a strong work ethic Maintain a safe, organized, and positive practice environment Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, fellow coaches, directors, and Burke's staff Work collaboratively with the Cheerleading Director and coaching staff to support the continued growth of Burke's competitive cheer program Serve as a positive role model for Burke's athletes Qualifications Previous cheerleading, gymnastics, or tumbling experience is encouraged.
