JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for providing leadership and direction for all aspects of the Softball program as they compete competitively in NCAA Division III athletics while providing an educational environment which enhances the development of the whole student-athlete. Additional responsibilities include teaching courses in physical education as well as departmental administrative responsibilities.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide leadership and direction to the Softball program; create a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations as well as New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and WPI university policies and procedures. Develop team and individual strategies to create an environment of success through effective teaching of technical and fundamental softball skills. Responsible for direct supervision of assistant coach(es), and any other personnel management duties as required to maintain a successful staff. Recruit prospective student-athletes committed to academic and athletic excellence; establish ways to ensure success for all team members academically, athletically, and socially. Maintain a strong connection with the WPI softball alumni group through communication and relationship development. Responsible for successfully managing the program's operating and fundraising budgets. Teach physical education courses and perform other administrative duties as assigned. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. 3 to 5 years of collegiate coaching experience. Salary Grade (7): $60,000 to $70,000 (depending on experience) Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
