Do you love working with kids? Are you energetic, playful and comfortable being a little silly? Warriors Academy of Gymnastics is looking for enthusiastic Recreational Gymnastics Coaches to join our team in Glen Burnie! Gymnastics experience is helpful, but it is not required. We can teach you gymnastics progressions, drills and how to coach them. What we're really looking for are people who genuinely enjoy working with kids, bring positive energy and aren't afraid to jump in and participate. Former gymnasts, cheerleaders, dancers, youth sports coaches, camp counselors, babysitters and anyone with experience working with children are encouraged to apply. Schedule Our recreational classes are primarily after school and on weekends:

Weekdays:

approximately 3:00/4:00-7:30

PM Saturdays:

approximately 9:00 AM-1:00

PM Sundays:

approximately 9:30 AM-11:30 AM Most shifts are approximately 3 hours Minimum availability of 2 days per week required Additional shifts may be available for coaches with greater availability Coaches may also have opportunities to work camps, parties, open gym, and events. What Makes a Great Warriors Coach? Our best coaches are the ones who are actively involved with their athletes. They're encouraging kids, giving high-fives, demonstrating, correcting, celebrating successes and keeping their groups moving. For our younger athletes, that might also mean singing songs, using funny voices, playing along with an imaginary adventure or finding a creative way to keep a preschooler engaged. We're looking for someone who: Genuinely enjoys being around children Is energetic, playful and positive Is comfortable taking charge of a group Takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do Is reliable and arrives ready to coach Can learn to give athletes corrections and encouragement Builds relationships with athletes and learns their names Is comfortable having simple conversations with parents Works well as part of a coaching team What You'll Do Coach recreational gymnastics classes for preschool and school-age athletes Assist with Parent & Tot classes as assigned Teach basic gymnastics skills, progressions and drills Keep athletes engaged, active and safe Provide positive corrections and encouragement Help with camps and Open Gym events Work collaboratively with other Warriors coaches and managers Don't Know Gymnastics? We'll Train You. New coaches receive approximately two weeks of hands-on training . You'll begin by shadowing experienced coaches, then gradually start leading activities and classes with support. Depending on your experience and readiness, you may begin in a support role helping throughout the gym before taking responsibility for your own classes. Coaches with previous gymnastics or coaching experience may progress more quickly.
