Job Overview Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Coach, where your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire and guide young athletes to reach their full potential! In this energetic role, you will support lead coaches in delivering engaging sports programs, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive environment for children of all skill levels. Your passion for sports, safety, and child development will help create memorable experiences that encourage growth, confidence, and a lifelong love of activity. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop coaching skills while making a meaningful impact on youth sports participation. Duties Assist head coaches in planning and executing sports training sessions across various disciplines such as soccer, basketball, cheerleading, climbing, martial arts (including karate and judo), and more Support the supervision of children during practices and games, ensuring safety and proper behavior management at all times Lead warm-up activities, skill drills, and small-sided games to promote physical development and teamwork Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and program updates Operate safety equipment such as AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) during emergencies and assist in first aid or CPR when needed Encourage sportsmanship, positive attitude, and respect among participants to foster a supportive environment Collaborate with team members to monitor participant engagement and adapt coaching strategies accordingly Skills Previous experience working with children in sports or childcare settings is highly valued Strong knowledge of sports-specific training instruction across multiple disciplines including soccer coaching, basketball, cheerleading, climbing, martial arts (karate and judo), and general physical education Lifeguard experience with CPR and first aid certification ensures readiness for emergency situations Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members Proven ability to lead teams with enthusiasm while maintaining discipline through behavior management techniques Experience operating AEDs and responding promptly to health-related incidents Background in sports team leadership or coaching enhances your ability to motivate young athletes Familiarity with health club or gym environments is a plus for understanding fitness fundamentals Embark on a rewarding journey where your coaching expertise helps shape confident, active children! Pay:
$15.50 - $18.00 per hour
