How this role contributes to the Y's mission: As a Swim Coach, you will help develop swimmers' skills, confidence, and love for competitive swimming while creating a safe, positive, and inclusive team environment. You'll assist with practices, support athlete development, and foster meaningful relationships with swimmers, families, and fellow coaches. Through your leadership and commitment to The Y's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, you'll help create an exceptional experience that promotes teamwork, personal growth, and lifelong wellness. This work is right for you if you: Enjoy coaching and mentoring swimmers of varying ages and skill levels. Have a passion for helping athletes build confidence, improve their technique, and achieve their goals. Prioritize safety by enforcing pool rules and maintaining constant awareness during practices and events. Communicate effectively with swimmers, families, and fellow coaches to support athlete development. Take initiative to prepare equipment, maintain a clean and organized pool environment, and support daily team operations. Thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and enjoy creating positive relationships. Demonstrate The Y's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility in every interaction. All Y associates agree to abide by The Code of Conduct with Youth that sets clear expectations for associates and volunteers to ensure a safe and respectful environment for young people. The policy strictly prohibits any form of abuse, bullying, or harassment and mandates the reporting of suspected mistreatment. Additionally, associates and volunteers must complete training on child abuse prevention and comply with legal reporting requirements to safeguard youth.
