Job Description

Overview:
Sugarloaf is looking for enthusiastic and outgoing people to join our team as full-time and part-time Seasonal Program and Daily Lesson Instructors this winter season. The role of a Ski/Snowboard Instructor is to teach guests how to ski or ride and to enjoy the mountain environment. All instructors must be willing to work with all ages and abilities, especially children and beginners. It is not necessary to be an excellent skier or rider, but a love of the sport and the desire to continually improve regardless of current ability is important. The starting wage for this role is $17/hr with the opportunity for increases based upon performance and successful completion of PSIA trainings. Responsibilities:
Must be comfortable setting up and maintaining an environment conducive to safety, fun, and learning. Must have strong communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with guests, supervisors, and co-workers. Must be reliable, dependable, and punctual. Must have a genuine desire to pass on knowledge of the sport and inspire others to enjoy it Must be able to work outside in extreme and quickly changing winter mountain conditions Must be able to work in a physically challenging environment Must be able to maintain a great guest service attitude while working with beginner students on green (beginner) terrain as well as all other students throughout the season
Qualifications:
Certified status preferred, but not mandatory. A vibrant and enthusiastic approach to guest service that reflects a genuine love for the outdoors is essential. Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as these are our busiest times.
