The University of Medicine and Health Sciences School of Medicine, chartered on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean with a clinical campus located in South Portland, Maine and with corporate offices in New York City is seeking a unique individual who is trained and experienced in an allied medical field to provide clinical skills training to third year students and coordination of our preceptorship program in our clinical campus located in South Portland, Maine. Position Summary The Clinical Skills Instructor is responsible for teaching, demonstrating, and assessing foundational clinical procedures for medical students within the Clinical Skills Laboratory (CSL). This per-diem position plays a vital role in preparing future physicians through hands-on instruction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide instruction, demonstration, and supervision of clinical skills sessions for medical students. Teach and assess student competency in the following areas: Baseline Vital Signs Orthostatic Vital Signs Peak Flow Measurement Spirometry and Incentive Spirometer Use Subcutaneous Injections Intramuscular Injections PPD Skin Testing Glucometer Use Arterial Blood Gas Collection Adult Endotracheal Intubation Intravenous (IV) Placement Venipuncture 12-Lead Electrocardiogram (EKG) Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students during laboratory sessions. Ensure compliance with institutional policies, safety procedures, and best clinical practices. Required Qualifications Clinically relevant degree with a current, active professional license in one of the following disciplines: Physician Assistant (PA); Nurse Practitioner (NP); Registered Nurse (RN); Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to teach and mentor learners in a supportive educational environment. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students. Position Type Per-Diem Hours are scheduled based on curricular needs, laboratory sessions, and special educational activities.
