Travel Basketball Coach and Basketball Trainers
Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Travel Basketball Coach and/or a Basketball Trainer, where your passion for basketball and youth development will inspire young athletes to reach their full potential! We are looking for people who'd like to coach a travel basketball team and basketball trainers, and possibly people who are interested in both roles working under our Club Director and Head Trainer Marv Fox. In this energetic role, you will lead travel basketball teams, design engaging training sessions, and foster a positive environment that promotes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Your expertise will help shape confident, disciplined players while ensuring they enjoy every moment on the court. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in youth sports while honing your coaching skills across diverse settings. Responsibilities Lead and coach travel basketball teams at various tournaments and competitions, ensuring players perform at their best. Develop comprehensive training programs tailored to different skill levels, emphasizing fundamental techniques and advanced strategies. Foster a motivating and inclusive team environment that encourages teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. Conduct individual assessments to identify player strengths and areas for improvement, providing constructive feedback. Work with the basketball administration team on logistics, including scheduling practices, games, and travel arrangements with professionalism and efficiency. Communicate regularly with players' families regarding team progress, schedules, and upcoming events to maintain transparency. Ensure all safety protocols are followed during practices and games. Proven experience working with children in sports or educational settings; background in basketball coaching is highly preferred. Demonstrated sports coaching experience with a focus on basketball; familiarity with team leadership and behavior management is essential. Knowledge of sports-specific training instruction methods to enhance player development across various skill levels. Certifications in First Aid and CPR; AED operation certification is preferred. Additional experience in related youth activities and youth sports; versatile coaching skills. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with players, parents, and team staff; ability to teach physical education concepts clearly. Ability to adapt coaching techniques for diverse age groups while maintaining a fun yet disciplined atmosphere.
