- Previous Coaching experience preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Supervisory and sports management experience.
- Clear criminal history check, physical, and drug test required; first aid training.
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Candidate should demonstrate a high degree of integrity as the Head Coach is the face of the program and a representative of the entire Capac community.
- Dynamic personality who will get the entire Capac community involved.
- Maintain an open line of communication with parents, student-athletes, and the community, and provide appropriate information.
- Ability to teach fundamental skills and team concepts of basketball.
- Plan, organize, and execute off-season, summer, and pre-season training and preparation programs. Knowledge of strength and conditioning practices.
- Ability to interact with student-athletes of different ages and abilities in a positive and professional manner, promoting character and integrity.
- Motivate, guide, and mentor student-athletes and assistant coaches.
- Must promote school spirit.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the staff, students, and parents.
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of this position, which includes sitting, standing, extensive walking, twisting, talking, seeing, and hearing. Occasionally, it will be expected to repeat the same body, hand, arm, or finger motions many times and push or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Performs other functions and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
