High School Girls Varsity Basketball Coach

Job Summary Durand High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the High School Girl's Varsity Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the game, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate young athletes. This seasonal position is an opportunity to contribute to the development of student-athletes both on and off the court while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive athletic experience. Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a comprehensive training program that focuses on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
• Conduct daily practices that enhance players' technical abilities and game understanding.
• Develop game strategies and make real-time decisions during competitions.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations.
• Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and promote a balance between athletics and academics.
• Organize and oversee team events, including fundraisers, team-building activities, and community outreach initiatives.
• Collaborate with other coaching staff and school personnel to ensure a cohesive athletic program.
• Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all school and athletic association rules and regulations. Requirements
• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their best.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• First Aid/CPR certification is preferred or the willingness to obtain certification.
• A positive attitude and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive team environment.
• Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season, including practices and games.
