Job Description
20+ hours a week of small group and private swim lessons are available. Instruct individuals of all ages in swimming skills according to swimEGR standards to ensure the participants success. Instruct individuals of all ages in skills according to swimEGR standards Directly responsible to the Aquatic Supervisor Functions performed in fulfilling responsibilities: Prevent accidents and minimize/eliminate hazardous situations in pool areas. Respond quickly to all emergency situations using proper procedures/techniques. Enforce all pool regulations set by the EGR Parks and Recreation Department. Administer emergency First Aid and/or CPR if certified to any person injured in the pool area and assist Lifeguard(s) in the completion of reports, (certified lifeguards only). Work all scheduled shifts or secure own substitute. Attend all scheduled staff meetings, in-services and workshops. Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times. Maintain positive relations and rapport with pool patrons. Complete all necessary paperwork. Any other duties assigned by the Aquatic Supervisor. Minimum of 1-year experience as an instructor. Good organizational skills Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others (especially children). Preferred certifications include ARC Lifeguarding, First Aid and Professional Rescuer CPR/AED. Ability to perform well in emergency situations.
