Job Description
Summary Beagle Middle School is seeking two dedicated and passionate individuals to join our athletic department as a Middle School Boys Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. This seasonal position offers the opportunity to mentor young athletes, develop their skills, and promote teamwork and sportsmanship. Responsibilities Plan and conduct daily basketball practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Develop game strategies and prepare the team for competitive matches. Organize and oversee all aspects of the basketball program, including scheduling games and practices. Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and any relevant updates. Foster a positive team culture that encourages player participation, growth, and respect for others. Monitor player attendance, performance, and academic eligibility throughout the season. Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote the overall athletic program. Attend all games and support the team during competitions, providing guidance and encouragement. Requirements Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level. Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, rules, and coaching techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff in a collaborative environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season). A commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all players. Availability to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.
