Job Description
NOTICE OF VACANCY
August 11, 2026POSITION TITLE:
Assistant Golf Coach - Girls (This position is participant dependent - meaning there must be 11 athletes on the roster for the position to be filled for a specific season.)QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of high school diploma
- Golf coaching experience preferred at the high school level
- Working knowledge of golf rules as distributed by MHSAA and coach's guidebook
- Demonstrate strong leadership, communication/interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents
- Criminal background check including fingerprinting required
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete required MHSAA certification and coursework
- Assist head coach in open gym opportunities, daily practices, and team matches
- Travel with athletes to matches, when necessary
- Leadership of young people in the area of athletics
- Assist with team fundraising activities
- Make appearances at community and school events such as parades, games, assemblies, volunteer opportunities, etc.
- Assist Head Coach with pre and post-season equipment distribution, collection and inventory
- Attend mandatory MHSAA rules meeting once a year
- Seek professional development opportunities specific to the coaching of golf techniques and playing strategies.
- Attend preseason and post season meetings offered by the Athletic Department.
- Must be CPR/AED certified.
