Job Posting 8 th Grade Volleyball Coach Vicksburg Middle School July 20, 2026 Position Summary Vicksburg Community Schools is seeking to add an experienced 8 th Grade Volleyball Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. Responsibilities
  • Serve as a positive role model to the players and parents
  • Teach skills through effectively planned practices at a level appropriate for each member of the team
  • Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility
  • Responsible for all aspects of directing the team's practice and play in games.
  • Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team
  • Monitor player's personal conduct during games
  • Manage equipment
  • Effectively communicate with parents about expectations, schedules, etc.
  • Performs related duties as requested by the Athletic Director.
  • The above duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the nature of the work by this position. The listing is not all-inclusive. Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with 12-14-year-old student athletes
  • Previous coaching experience at the middle school level or above.
  • Previous playing experience at the high school or college level
  • Willingness to learn and follow district and MHSAA rules and guidelines
  • Concussion/CPR/AED training required
  • Completion of Level 1 or Level 2 Coaches Advancement Program (CAP) or willingness to obtain may be required.
  • Must pass background checks and comply with state and district requirements for working with students. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to run, walk, and move around school campuses, fields, and other facilities.
  • May be required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel and squat for extended periods.
  • May require an employee to lift and/or move heavy objects.
