Job Description

Job Summary ROGA (Rochester Gymnastics Academy) is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and dependable Competitive Gymnastics Coach to join our coaching team and work with athletes in our competitive boys and girls programs. Our competitive coaches help athletes develop gymnastics skills, strength, flexibility, confidence, discipline, and a strong work ethic while creating a positive and supportive training environment. Coaches work with athletes at varying skill levels and are responsible for providing instruction that is appropriately challenging, technically sound, and focused on long-term athlete development. The ideal candidate has previous gymnastics experience and a strong understanding of competitive gymnastics. We are looking for coaches who are positive, knowledgeable, safety-conscious, and passionate about helping athletes reach their individual goals. Responsibilities Plan and lead structured practices for competitive gymnastics athletes Teach and refine gymnastics skills appropriate to each athlete's level and ability Provide clear technical instruction, corrections, and demonstrations Develop athlete strength, flexibility, conditioning, body awareness, and foundational skills Create a positive, respectful, and motivating training environment Adjust instruction and drills based on individual athlete needs and goals Monitor athlete progress and provide constructive feedback Maintain a strong focus on athlete safety and proper technique Prepare athletes for competitions and support them during competition events as assigned Communicate professionally with athletes, parents/guardians, and fellow coaches Work collaboratively with the competitive coaching team to maintain consistency in training and expectations Support positive team culture, sportsmanship, accountability, and confidence Maintain an organized and clean training environment Follow ROGA policies, safety procedures, and coaching expectations Participate in coach meetings, training, and professional development as needed Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age Must successfully pass a background check prior to employment Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available Previous gymnastics experience is required Previous competitive gymnastics coaching experience is strongly preferred Experience as a competitive gymnast may be considered depending on coaching experience and skill level Strong understanding of gymnastics fundamentals, technique, progressions, and safety Comfortable providing technical corrections and individualized instruction Positive, energetic, and encouraging coaching style Strong communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, responsible, and professional Ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team Comfortable working with athletes of different ages and skill levels Willingness to learn and follow ROGA's coaching systems and expectations Must successfully pass a background check prior to employment Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available Schedule Part-time coaching hours with potential for additional hours Weekday afternoon and evening practices Weekend practices and competition opportunities may be available or required depending on program needs Specific schedule will vary based on program needs, coach availability, and athlete schedules Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications Employee discounts Flexible scheduling Opportunities for additional hours Opportunities for professional development and advancement Supportive, team-oriented coaching environment Physical & Communication Requirements Ability to actively participate in a physical, movement-based coaching role throughout the shift Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and move throughout the gym Ability to demonstrate gymnastics skills and drills Ability to spot and physically assist athletes as appropriate to training and safety requirements Ability to lift, support, or assist athletes when needed Ability to maintain awareness of multiple athletes during training Ability to communicate clearly and project voice in an active/loud gym environment Ability to maintain focus and respond quickly to safety concerns Join the ROGA Team If you have a passion for competitive gymnastics and enjoy helping athletes work toward their goals in a positive and supportive environment, we would love to hear from you. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 30.0 per week
