Job Description
Job Summary ROGA (Rochester Gymnastics Academy) is looking for enthusiastic, dependable, and energetic individuals to join our team as PreK & Youth Gymnastics Coaches ! Our coaches create a fun, safe, and positive environment where children build confidence, coordination, strength, and a love for movement. Coaches work with athletes ranging from approximately 18 months to 12 years old , leading structured gymnastics activities, games, and skill development tailored to each athlete's age, ability level, and developmental needs. No gymnastics experience is required, we provide training! Experience in gymnastics, coaching, childcare, education, or other youth programs is a plus and may be reflected in starting pay. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with children, leading activities, staying active, and being part of a supportive team. We are especially looking for coaches who are available for afternoon and evening classes between 3:00 and 8:00 p.m. Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging gymnastics lessons that are safe, age-appropriate, and developmentally appropriate for each class level Create a positive and encouraging environment where children feel comfortable learning and participating Teach fundamental skills including tumbling, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, and body awareness Demonstrate proper use of equipment and ensure activities are completed safely Supervise athletes closely and maintain a safe, organized class environment Provide positive feedback and encouragement while supporting confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship Adjust instruction based on individual athlete needs and skill levels Communicate professionally with parents/guardians regarding class updates and student progress Bring energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to every class Work collaboratively with other coaches and ROGA staff Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age Must successfully pass a background check prior to employment Must be l egally authorized to work in the United States ; visa sponsorship is not available Experience working with children is preferred Experience in gymnastics, coaching, childcare, education, or youth programs is a plus Positive attitude and willingness to learn Reliable and responsible Comfortable being active, energetic, and engaged with children Strong communication and teamwork skills Schedule Part-time evening hours Afternoon and evening availability between 3:00 and 8:00 p.m. Weekday coaching opportunities available Specific hours vary based on class schedules, availability, and program needs Additional hours may be available for coaches interested in taking on additional classes, events, or programs Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Paid training Employee discounts Flexible scheduling Opportunities for additional hours and advancement Supportive, team-oriented work environment Physical & Communication Requirements Ability to actively participate in a physical, movement-based role throughout the shift Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and move quickly between stations Ability to assist young children with basic skills, including lifting or supporting children as needed Ability to demonstrate basic movements, balance, coordination, and gymnastics skills after training Ability to maintain awareness of multiple children in a group setting Ability to communicate clearly and project voice in an active/loud gym environment Join the ROGA Team! Pay:
