Head Coach and Studio Manager - Kickboxing Studio
Job Description
KickHouse O'Fallon is hiring a Head Coach and Studio Manager. You teach the classes, you set the standard for the other coaches, and you own the member side of the business. We already have a dedicated salesperson for new leads, so you are not carrying a sales quota. You are carrying the studio.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
On the floor: Teach the scheduled formats. Arrive 30 minutes early with your outline for the format on the board. Bring the energy to every class, not just the good ones. Members come back for the room, not the workout. Learn every member's name and use it. Scale the round up or down so the brand-new person and the two-year member both leave tired and happy. Log attendance in ClubReady and keep the class calendar current. Set the standard for the other coaches: formats, timing, safety, the pre-class walkthrough. Arrange cover when someone can't make a class. Coach first-timers through their free class, then hand them to our membership director for the membership conversation.
Running the studio:
Own memberships after the sale: setups, freezes, upgrades, and cancellations in ClubReady. Handle cancellation requests personally. Have the conversation before the cancellation goes through, and log why it happened. Order and manage merchandise and studio supplies: gloves, wraps, apparel, cleaning. Plan and run studio events and member challenges. Open and close. Keep the floor, equipment, and bathrooms in the shape you'd want to walk into. Send the owner the daily and week's numbers and sit in a 30-minute weekly meeting with the owner and the membership director.
WHAT YOU'LL BE MEASURED ON
Member retention and cancellation saves First-timer return rate, meaning do they book a second class Class attendance trend Classes covered on time, ClubReady and the calendar kept current
WHO DOES WELL HERE
You've taught group fitness, kickboxing, boxing, martial arts, or bootcamp classes to real rooms. Kickboxing background helps. It isn't required if you can hold a room. You've run something before, even something small: a shift, a studio, a store, a team. You're comfortable being the person who decides. You show up early, every time. This role lives or dies on reliability. You're good with people who are nervous, out of shape, or both. No drill-sergeant act. You want evening hours and you want them to stay evening hours. Certifications are a plus, not a requirement. If you don't have CPR/AED, we'll get you certified.
SCHEDULE
Part-time, 30-32 hours per week, in person in O'Fallon. Core shifts are Monday through Friday afternoons and evenings plus Saturday mornings. Set weekly schedule, so you'll know your shifts in advance.
