Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Prior coaching experience is desired. Reports to: District Athletic Director
Goal:
To help students achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation of discipline and sportsmanship and an increased level of self-esteem.
Responsibilities:
Have a working knowledge of MSHSAA rules, event procedures and coaching technique. Complete sideline training. Support the head coach in conducting the athletic program. Maintain appropriate rapport with participant parents. During games, maintains self-control, provide an example of sportsmanlike conduct in his/her relationship with players, staff, officials, and opponents. Keep the head coach informed of appropriate issues. Assist in the planning and implementation of both in-seaons and out-of-seasnong conditioning and weight programs. Work cooperatively with District staff. Attend all required meetings. Attend all events. Conduct practice drills, destribute and collect required equipment, detemine eligibiltiy and work with student manager as directed by the head coach. Promote positive relations between the building, District, Board and community. Execute all policies, rules and regulations adopted by the Board. Make decisions for the best interests of the District and within Board policies and CSIP objectives. Other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Terms of Employment:
Contract to be established by the Board - Generally during the athletic season.
Evaluation:
Annual by Head Coach in accordance with policy. A criminal fingerprint/background clearance is required.
