- Job Title: HVAC Technician
- Job Description
- As a Critical Environments Operating Engineer, you will be at the forefront of maintaining mission-critical data center infrastructure that powers the digital world.
This role is essential for ensuring uninterrupted operations of sophisticated electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS generators, cooling systems, and medium-voltage electrical infrastructure. You will work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, applying best practices and problem-solving skills to keep critical facilities running seamlessly. - Responsibilities
- + Operate and maintain all critical building systems to ensure uninterrupted operations, including fire/life safety, HVAC chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, plumbing controls, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, power distribution, and transformers.
+ Monitor, adjust, and maintain refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning equipment, boilers, pumps, valves, piping, and electrical systems for optimal performance.
+ Record equipment readings, analyze system operations, identify problems or malfunctions, and take immediate corrective action as required.
+ Manage work orders through CMMS, coordinate with vendors, and respond to customer-facing tickets promptly and professionally.
+ Learn and understand the data center infrastructure thoroughly to effectively manage incidents and events impacting critical systems.
+ Comply with emergency escalation procedures and respond to site emergencies to protect critical operations.
+ Maintain safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, while keeping the workplace clean, organized, and compliant with all safety standards.
- Essential Skills
- + 2 years of hands-on experience working in a data center or critical facility environment.
+ Demonstrated experience with mission-critical building systems, including UPS systems, emergency generators, switchgear, and power distribution equipment.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document activities and communicate technical information clearly.
+ Working knowledge of computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Suite, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
+ Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 30 feet, work at heights, and navigate rooftops.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Flexibility to work different shifts in a 24/7/365 facility. + Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude. + Experience in facilities maintenance and HVAC systems.

- Work Environment
- The facility operates 24/7/365, with support for all shifts including day, swing, and night. Employees have access to onsite parking and will follow a rotating or set schedule, ensuring availability is key in this dynamic work environment.

- This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $36.
00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
