Exempt Brief Summary of Work for thisPosition:
Under the direction of the Head Coach, Strength & Conditioning, the Assistant Coach, Strength & Conditioning, will develop and manage effective individual and group strength/conditioning programs for student-athletes participating in UNCW's Division I intercollegiate athletic program.- Develops sport-specific programming that is scientifically-based, involves periodized/cycled regimens of exercises and drills to optimize strength, power, flexibility, mobility, agility, speed and/or work capacity-designed to enhance sport performance and decrease incidence of non-contact injuries.
- Demonstrates and implements safe, effective and proven exercise techniques at each training session and delivers programs in an organized manner using the field's best practices.
- Adheres to all UNCW, CAA, and NCAA guidelines and provide student-athletes an exceptional collegiate experience while competing for championships.
- Employs effective communication skills to establish relationships and conduct work at a high level with a wide range of constituents (coaches, student-athletes, administrators, etc.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Knowledge of strength and conditioning exercise technique.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills along with strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize and instruct groups ranging from (2) to (50) student-athletes at one time.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- NSCA
- C.S.C.S. (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) and/or CSCCa
- SCCC (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified
CPR/First Aid Certification Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
