Job Description

Overview:
Wilson Country Club is seeking a Head Swim Coach to lead the club's swim club and provide lessons. This position will provide direct leadership, instruction, motivation to swimmers, and attend all team functions, practices, meetings and the social events. The Head Coach will help develop and improve the technical and physical skills of swimming in each participant while providing a fun and enjoyable environment. Enthusiastic and energetic leadership. Prepare workouts that are adapted to the variable skills and abilities of swimmers. Have prompt attendance at all scheduled practices, functions and meets. Maintain a friendly and approachable attitude. Establish and maintain respectful and effective working relationships with the swimmers, assistant coaches, club staff and parents. Instruct swimmers on proper swimming form and technique. Observe swimmers to understand and correct mistakes. Provide appropriate feedback on performance to each swimmer. Help oversee and communicate practice updates and event updates. Work with the timing system and organize all line-up's for meets, submitting them by the required time. Send out weekly communication emails to the parents and/or swimmers about upcoming announcements. Ensure that after each practice, the facility is left as requested and that all pool equipment is back in place. Help order ribbons, trophies and awards. Attend all required meetings, practices and social functions.

At least 2-4 years of coaching experience 3-4 years of competitive swimming experience (preferred) CPR & First Aid certifications Demonstrates strong communication & leadership skills Enthusiastic, patient and able to give simple instruction Works well with others including coaches, staff and parents
