Job Description

Wolves Basketball is looking for an experienced, energetic basketball coach to join our Wolves Preseason Academy this fall. We're looking for someone who understands the game and, just as importantly, knows how to teach it to young athletes . The ideal coach can demonstrate skills, explain concepts clearly, lead drills, keep athletes engaged, and create a positive environment where players are challenged to improve. This position may serve as a lead coach or assistant coach depending on experience and fit. What You'll Do Lead and assist with basketball drills and workouts Teach shooting, ball handling, passing, finishing, footwork, and defense Demonstrate drills and skills at a high level Explain the why behind skills and how they translate to game situations Coach small groups of athletes and provide individual feedback Lead small-sided games such as 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 Encourage, motivate, and hold athletes accountable Help maintain an organized, high-energy training environment Build positive relationships with athletes Serve as a positive role model on and off the court Who We're Looking For Basketball coaching or playing experience is strongly preferred. Experience as a youth, AAU, travel, middle school, high school, college, or player-development coach is a plus. More than anything, we're looking for someone who can teach the game . You should be comfortable getting on the court, demonstrating drills, communicating with athletes of different ages and skill levels, and bringing positive energy every session. You should be reliable, professional, encouraging, coachable, and passionate about helping young athletes develop. Program The Wolves Preseason Academy serves boys and girls in grades 5-12 and is designed to prepare athletes for their upcoming winter basketball seasons.
The Academy includes:
Skill Lab - Chatham, NJ Individual skill development and high-quality repetitions. Game Lab - Cranford, NJ Small-sided games, competition, decision-making, and game application. Fall 2026 | October-November About Wolves Basketball At Wolves Basketball, player development goes beyond improving basketball skills. $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
