Overview Join our dynamic team as a Youth Basketball Coach and inspire young athletes to develop their skills, teamwork, and love for the game! In this energetic role, you will lead youth basketball programs, foster a positive environment for learning and growth, and promote healthy physical activity. Your enthusiasm and sports expertise will motivate children to reach their full potential while ensuring safety and fun at every session. Responsibilities Lead youth basketball practices, drills, and games, ensuring a fun and inclusive environment for all participants Develop age-appropriate training plans that promote skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship Communicate effectively with players, parents, and program coordinators to provide updates and feedback Monitor safety protocols during activities, including first aid and CPR procedures when necessary Manage behavior on the court through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques Coordinate with other coaches or staff to organize tournaments, events, or special training sessions Maintain equipment, ensure proper use of sports gear, and uphold facility safety standards Requirements Prior experience working with children in sports or educational settings is essential Strong knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and coaching methods Experience in sports-specific training instruction such as soccer coaching or cheerleading is a plus Demonstrated team leadership skills with the ability to motivate young athletes Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or sports coaching preferred Background in other physical activities such as martial arts (karate, judo), climbing, or swimming enhances your candidacy Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues Ability to manage behavior positively while maintaining a safe environment for all participants Embark on a rewarding journey as a Youth Basketball Coach where your passion for sports meets your dedication to nurturing the next generation!
