Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Children's Swim Instructor, where your passion for teaching and swimming will inspire young learners to develop essential water safety skills and confidence in the pool. As a vital part of our aquatic program, you will lead engaging swim lessons that promote physical activity, water safety awareness, and skill mastery for children of all ages and abilities. Paid training and ongoing development opportunities are provided to ensure your success in this rewarding position. Responsibilities Lead structured swim lessons tailored to children's age groups and skill levels, ensuring a positive and motivating environment. Demonstrate proper swimming techniques, water safety procedures, and sports-specific training instruction to students. Monitor children closely during lessons to ensure safety at all times, utilizing your Lifeguard experience and First Aid/CPR certification. Manage behavior effectively through clear communication skills and behavior management strategies to maintain a respectful and focused class setting. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, safety concerns, or questions about the program. Assist with pool maintenance checks, safety equipment inspections, and emergency preparedness protocols including AED operation. Collaborate with team members to plan innovative lesson plans that incorporate sports coaching experience such as soccer, basketball, cheerleading, or martial arts when appropriate. Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational or recreational settings; background in teaching physical education or sports coaching is highly valued. Strong swimming ability with demonstrated proficiency in water safety techniques; Lifeguard experience preferred but not mandatory if willing to obtain certification. Certification in First Aid and CPR/AED is required; ongoing training provided if necessary. Knowledge of behavior management strategies to foster a positive learning environment. Experience with sports-specific training instruction such as soccer coaching, basketball, cheerleading, climbing, judo, karate or martial arts enhances your effectiveness as an instructor. Excellent communication skills for client interaction with parents and team collaboration. Ability to maintain high energy levels throughout lessons while ensuring safety standards are met consistently. Physical ability to perform swimming activities and stand for extended periods during lessons.
