Job Description

Competitive Team Coach The Connection Gymnastics Department is seeking a professional, mature, positive, energetic, and reliable Competitive Team Gymnastics Coach to join the Summit Summies Competitive Team for the 2026-2027 season. We are looking for coaches who are passionate about athlete development, technical excellence, safety, and helping gymnasts build confidence, discipline, and life skills in a positive, team-oriented environment. This position offers opportunities to coach athletes at multiple competitive levels, with responsibilities available in both assistant and lead coaching roles based on experience, availability, and leadership ability. Additional coaching hours may also be available within our recreational gymnastics program. Coaching Opportunities We are currently seeking coaches for: Pre-Team USAG Development Program Levels 3-8 USAG Xcel Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Primary Responsibilities Coach competitive gymnastics practices throughout the week Attend weekend competitions and assist with athlete preparation Develop athletes through safe, progressive skill instruction Teach proper technique, execution, and skill progressions Implement drills that reinforce strength, flexibility, body awareness, and confidence Support seasonal training plans and long-term athlete development Spot athletes safely and appropriately Foster a positive, encouraging, and disciplined team culture Maintain a safe, organized, and professional training environment Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and fellow coaching staff Assist with equipment setup and gym organization Complete basic administrative duties as needed Qualifications The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Professionalism, maturity, and reliability Positive attitude with a collaborative, team-first mindset Strong communication and interpersonal skills Previous gymnastics coaching experience Ability to coach independently while working effectively with a coaching team Commitment to athlete safety and positive youth development Flexibility to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and competitions Preferred Experience Preference will be given to candidates with experience in: USAG Development Program Levels 3-8 USAG Xcel Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Competitive team coaching Teaching safe progressions from beginner through advanced skills Strength, conditioning, and flexibility training Seasonal training planning Recreational and pre-team coaching Preferred Certifications (Not Required) USAG Professional Membership USAG Safety Certification SafeSport Certification U100 Certification CPR/First Aid Certification Degree or coursework in Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Child Development, or a related field Attendance at gymnastics clinics, conferences, or professional development workshops Physical Requirements Candidates should be able to: Safely spot gymnasts of various ages and skill levels Move and set gymnastics equipment Stand, kneel, crouch, bend, and actively coach throughout scheduled shifts Demonstrate and assist with gymnastics skills when appropriate Schedule Part-time opportunities available: Weekday afternoons and evenings Weekend practices and competitions Year-round competitive coaching opportunities Additional recreational coaching hours may be available
Pay:
$19.00 - $26.00 per hour
