Students benefit from the resources, diversity and activities of Masters 7-day campus and accessible, talented faculty and staff. From our exceptional academics and outstanding visual and performing arts program to our championship athletic teams, the Masters learning experience prepares students for success in college, career and life. Job Summary Masters is seeking an experienced field hockey coach to lead our upper school program. We play within the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA) and the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS). The ideal candidate will continue to foster excellence through hard work, positivity and enjoyment while building a foundation of trust with athletes, families and the Masters community. They will look to utilize our top-notch facilities, including a designated turf field, newly renovated strength room and a fully equipped cardio room. This is a part time position from August 24th, 2026 through November 6, 2026. Requires 12 - 20 hours per week in season and out-of-season responsibilities as described below. Upper School practices are Monday through Friday 3:45-5:45 pm and Saturday mornings with contests during the week and on Saturdays.
RESPONSIBILITIES
: Attend all program/Department events and meetings Create and implement appropriate practice plans and game strategies for each student-athlete's stage of development. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and school community members Effectively communicate with student-athletes, parents and all pertinent constituencies Provide positive and constructive feedback/coaching during practices and competitions Implement and adhere to school/Athletics Department/league rules and expectations Positively represent the school at all pertinent league functions Strategically build and maintain program excellence through internal and external resources
REQUIREMENTS
Able to coach from August 24th through November 6, 2026 at the hours listed in the above summary Prior field hockey coaching experience and/or a high level of playing experience Have a sound knowledge of the sport specific rules and regulations as per NFHS and NFHCA guidelines Have strong leadership skills to motivate and develop student athletes Ability to facilitate a positive, comprehensive, and competitive program Ability to travel to all away competitions Assist in the field hockey college recruitment process for any college bound student-athletes
