Job Description

North Fork Cheer is seeking an experienced, energetic Cheerleading Coach to join our coaching staff in Cutchogue, NY. We are looking for a COACH and leader —someone who can confidently take ownership of a team or class, create a positive and energetic gym culture, and keep athletes engaged, productive and excited to improve. The right candidate understands that great coaching is about much more than knowing cheerleading skills. We are looking for someone who can lead a group, manage athletes effectively, teach and correct skills, maintain structure, motivate athletes, and keep a practice moving from beginning to end.
Our ideal coach:
Has previous cheerleading and/or cheer coaching experience Can confidently lead a team or class independently Creates a fun, upbeat and motivating practice environment Maintains structure and expectations without losing the positive atmosphere Can effectively manage athletes with different personalities and skill levels Understands proper cheerleading terminology and fundamentals Can teach and clean motions, jumps, dance and routine choreography Has knowledge of safe stunt progressions and technique Can recognize and correct technique rather than simply running drills Keeps athletes actively engaged and minimizes unnecessary downtime Handles normal athlete behavior and class-management situations confidently Takes initiative and problem-solves without needing constant direction Is dependable, prepared and professional Experience with All Star Cheer, school cheer, competitive cheer, gymnastics or tumbling is strongly preferred. Depending on experience, opportunities may include recreational cheer classes, team practices, stunt instruction, private lessons, choreography and additional coaching responsibilities. This is not an assistant coaching position. We are specifically looking for experienced individuals who are comfortable leading and managing athletes independently while creating the positive, exciting culture our athletes deserve. Part-time afternoon/evening and weekend opportunities are available.
North Fork Cheer Cutchogue, NY Pay:
$19.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 3.0 - 8.0 per week
