CrossFit CoachOverview CrossFit Bridge & Tunnel is looking for a coach who actually gives a damn about doing this right. We're a 2,500 sq ft garage gym in Ridgewood, Queens (right by the L train Halsey stop), built on the idea that real fitness doesn't need gimmicks; it needs people who show up, work hard, and get coached well. If you're tired of fitness influencer nonsense and want to help people build something real, we want to talk to you.
We run on four things:
Community, Accountability, Honesty, Fun. If those aren't just words to you, keep reading. What You'll Do Coach CrossFit classes — cue movement, correct form, keep the room safe and moving Build programming that matches where a client actually is, not where a template says they should be Push people through honest, energetic coaching — no empty hype, no participation trophies Teach the "why" behind the movement: mechanics, anatomy, injury prevention, so people train smart for the long haul Track client progress and adjust their training as they change Know your CPR/AED and take gym safety seriously Help out beyond the whiteboard — greet people, answer questions about membership, make new folks feel like they belong here What You Need Real coaching experience with CrossFit or comparable high-intensity group training CrossFit Level 1 (or equivalent) certification, required Solid grasp of anatomy and biomechanics — enough to explain movement, not just demonstrate it Can actually teach, not just perform — clients should leave understanding their own body better Current CPR/AED and first aid certs Bonus points for additional certs (personal training, nutrition, mobility work) — we like coaches who keep learning Why CFBT We built this gym because we were tired of watching people get sold fads instead of getting coached. No shortcuts, no gimmicks — just real work and real community. If that's the kind of gym you want to coach at, send us your resume.
