Job Description

Full-Time Strength Coach Her Strength Studio — Slingerlands, NY Her Strength Studio is a women's strength training studio dedicated to helping women become stronger, more confident, and capable through intelligent, progressive strength training. We are looking for a knowledgeable, energetic, and highly motivated Full-Time Strength Coach to join our team at both our locations in Slingerlands and Latham. This is not a group fitness instructor position. We are looking for someone who genuinely understands strength training, values thoughtful programming and proper technique, and wants to continue developing as a professional strength coach. What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate: Has a strong background in strength and resistance training Holds a current, nationally recognized personal training or strength & conditioning certification, such as: NSCA Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Or a comparable nationally recognized certification Has at least one year of coaching or personal training experience preferred , although we are open to exceptional newly certified coaches who are eager to learn Is comfortable coaching foundational strength movements including squats, deadlifts, presses, rows, carries, kettlebell movements, and barbell exercises Has excellent communication skills and can coach women with a wide variety of experience levels, abilities, and goals Is personable, encouraging, professional, dependable, and detail-oriented Is genuinely interested in continuing education and becoming an exceptional strength coach Required Availability Candidates must have consistent availability: 2-3 Weekdays 5:00 AM-1:00 PM Additionally, this position requires flexibility to coach: 1-2 evenings per week as needed 1-2 Saturdays per month Reliability during these hours is essential. Training & Development We take coaching quality extremely seriously. Every new coach completes a minimum of four weeks of shadowing, apprenticeship, and hands-on training before independently coaching Her Strength sessions. During this time, you'll learn our: Coaching standards Programming philosophy Movement progressions and regressions Member experience expectations Cueing and technique standards Small-group coaching systems We are looking for someone who wants to continue developing their craft—not simply someone looking to teach workouts. The selected candidate will also be required to obtain a StrongFirst certification within one year of hire . We strongly value continuing education, particularly in kettlebell and barbell training. About Her Strength Studio Her Strength Studio specializes in small-group strength training for women . Our sessions are intentionally kept small so our coaches can provide individualized attention, technique coaching, appropriate modifications, and progressive strength programming within a supportive community. Our members range from women who have never touched a barbell or kettlebell before to experienced lifters looking to become stronger. We believe strength training should be: Smart. Progressive. Challenging. Safe. And empowering. We care deeply about the quality of our programming and coaching, and we want coaches who take pride in doing things well.
