Job Description

North Rockland High School is seeking energetic and qualified part-time Strength and Conditioning coaches to support our middle and high school student-athletes. The ideal candidates will thrive in an upbeat, high-energy, and fun atmosphere, teaching foundational movement and exercise principles to elevate athletic performance and reduce injury risks. The coaches will work under the direction of the North Rockland Central School District Strength and Conditioning Coach and Athletic Director Key Responsibilities On-the-Floor Coaching and Group Management Provide high-quality, direct instruction for both middle and high school student-athletes Confidently lead, manage, and motivate sports teams and groups ranging from 5 to 25 athletes simultaneously Establish strict weight room control and command to ensure a safe, structured training environment Prioritize and maintain the physical safety and overall wellbeing of every student-athlete Performance Technology Integration Administer, track, and interpret data using cutting-edge sports performance tools, including: Force plates Velocity-Based Training (VBT) tools Jump mats Timing gates GPS tracking systems Sports Medicine Collaboration and Facility Upkeep Work alongside the professional Athletic Training staff to monitor and execute specific return-to-play protocols for recovering student-athletes Responsible for daily weight room upkeep, including equipment cleaning, organizational maintenance, and routine safety inspections to protect our facilities and technology Qualifications and Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience) 1 to 3 years of active experience coaching in a strength and conditioning environment Proven ability to manage a high-energy room filled with large groups of high school athletes Ideal candidates will have a background in nutrition or social media Required Certifications Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or an equivalent accredited training certification Current First aid, CPR, and AED certifications Must pass all District-mandated background checks, fingerprinting and clearances required to work with minors in a public school setting Final hiring is contingent upon Board of Education approval
