Job Description

The Assistant Coach of Basketball is responsible for their designated aspect of coaching, assist in recruiting and willing to assist in any role needed. The candidate needs to be a relentless supporter of Lorain County Community College and its athletics department. Collegiate coaching and recruiting experience are preferred but not required for this position. The program will be conducted in compliance with policies, procedures and regulations of the College, the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Candidates must maintain a current CPR and AED certification. This is a part-time, 12-month position, reporting directly to the Head Basketball Coach and Athletic Director.
Responsibilities:
Assist in recruiting efforts. Developing and coaching student-athletes. Commitment to academic integrity and student-athlete welfare. Assisting in fund-raising to support the program's operational budget.
Requirements:
Three years of basketball coaching experience. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Solid administrative skills with the ability to communicate and motivate student-athletes to achieve goals. Willingness to interact comfortably with individuals and constituency groups that are crucial to the advancement of the baseball program along with the department and institution. Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
Education:
Associate degree or better required/Bachelor's degree or better preferred.
