Job Description

Graduate Assistant Swimming Coach Hiram College invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Swimming Coach. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the recruitment, retention, and day-to-day operations of the Hiram College Swimming program. Hiram College is a member of the Presidents Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III. Position Purpose The graduate assistant swimming coach will work directly with the men's and women's swim program and assist the head coach with all facets of the day-to-day operations of the program in compliance with Hiram College, PAC and NCAA policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities and Duties Assist head coach in practice and competition planning and implementation Assist in all facets of recruiting and retention of student-athletes to the swim program Assist with strength and conditioning program for swimming Assist with all funding raising initiatives for the Hiram College swimming program Do athletic laundry in sport season Participate in Annual Day with Hiram Golf Outing Other duties as assigned, to possibly include, but not be limited to other sport event management during the off-season Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. Skills & Knowledge Strong working knowledge of swimming Ability to teach skills and strategy of swimming. Working knowledge of strength and conditioning relative to men's and women's swimming Applicant must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented office environment and interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the public. Microsoft Word Excel Experience with Front Rush Proficient with all forms of social media Experience Previous college swimming and/or coaching experience preferred Experience recruiting college athletes preferred Education Bachelor's Degree required Acceptance into the Hiram College MAIS Graduate or Sports Management Program required for consideration
