Qualifications:

State of Ohio Teaching license/certificate (preferred-not required). Current BCI/FBI, Pupil Activity Permit (PAP) on file. (Including all required certifications to keep PAP valid.) Evidence of good moral character as established in section 3301-20-01 of the Ohio Administrative Code. Ability to maintain confidential information. Demonstrated coaching and administrative capabilities. Coaching experience preferred. Advanced knowledge of assigned sport with emphasis on fundamentals. Advanced knowledge of training and conditioning techniques. Ability to identify player strengths/deficiencies and provide quality feedback towards individual and team improvement. Organizational and problem solving skills. Ability to communicate ideas and directives effectively (orally and in writing). Ability to relate with and inspire young athletes. Ability to work effectively with all members of the school and athletic community. Willingness to invest the necessary time to develop a successful program. Ability to make minor repairs on equipment. Experience working with a culturally diverse student population preferred. Alternatives to the above qualifications that the Board of Education may find appropriate.

General Description:

Helps to prepare team to competitively participate in interscholastic athletics as positive representatives of the Springfield Local Schools community. Assist the Head Coach to create and maintain a culture that is positive, supportive and rooted in the spirit of education based athletics.
