Xcel Team Coach - Gold, Platinum, Diamond & Level 6 Dominique Moceanu Gymnastics Center Medina, Ohio Part-Time | Competitive Team Coaching | Opportunity for Growth Help Us Build the Future of the DMGC Xcel Program Dominique Moceanu Gymnastics Center is seeking an experienced, motivated, and positive Xcel Team Coach to join our competitive coaching staff and help us continue building the future of our Xcel and developmental optional programs. Our Xcel Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Level 6 athletes train cohesively , and we are looking for a coach who can contribute strong technical knowledge, consistent leadership, and a genuine commitment to athlete development. This is an important role within our program. We are not simply looking for someone to supervise practices. We are looking for someone who wants to coach, teach, develop, mentor and positively influence young athletes while working collaboratively with our existing coaching team. Who We Need We are specifically seeking coaching assistance with athletes competing in: Xcel Gold Xcel Platinum Xcel Diamond USA Gymnastics Level 6 Experience coaching upper-level Xcel athletes, Development Program athletes, or optional-level gymnastics is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate understands progressive skill development and can confidently assist with athletes working toward higher-level gymnastics on vault, bars, beam and floor. Responsibilities The Xcel Team Coach will work collaboratively with DMGC's Head Coaches and competitive coaching staff to: Coach Xcel Gold, Platinum and Diamond athletes and Level 6 gymnasts. Provide technically sound instruction across multiple events. Develop progressions, drills, shaping, strength and flexibility appropriate for each athlete's level. Help athletes refine routines, execution, consistency and competition readiness. Provide corrections with clarity, professionalism and encouragement. Maintain high expectations for effort, attitude, accountability and sportsmanship. Assist athletes in developing confidence while learning how to respond productively to coaching and correction. Communicate effectively with fellow coaches regarding athlete progress and areas requiring attention. Follow established team curriculum, assignments and program expectations. Work cohesively with other coaches rather than operating independently from the direction of the program. Maintain a professional and positive training environment. Follow USA Gymnastics Safe Sport, safety and professional conduct expectations. Help prepare athletes for competitions throughout the season. Contribute ideas while remaining open to feedback, collaboration and continued professional development. What We Are Looking For We would love to meet a coach who is: Knowledgeable in competitive gymnastics and skill progression. Experienced with Xcel Gold through Diamond and/or DP Level 6 or higher. Comfortable coaching athletes who have increasingly advanced skill requirements. Energetic and actively engaged during practice. Positive while still maintaining meaningful standards and accountability. Able to challenge athletes appropriately and recognize their individual developmental needs. Dependable and consistent. Professional in communication with athletes, parents and fellow staff. Willing to learn the DMGC curriculum, philosophy and coaching expectations. Comfortable receiving feedback and working under program leadership. Team-oriented rather than territorial about athletes or events. Passionate about helping children become stronger athletes and stronger people . Interested in helping build something for the future rather than simply filling coaching hours. Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidates will have: Previous competitive gymnastics coaching experience. Experience coaching Xcel Gold, Platinum or Diamond. Experience coaching DP Level 6 or higher. Knowledge of current USA Gymnastics Xcel and/or Development Program requirements. Experience developing optional-level skills. Strong spotting ability. Current or willingness to obtain applicable USA Gymnastics memberships, certifications, Safe Sport training and background screening. CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification. Former competitive gymnasts with strong technical knowledge and coaching experience are also encouraged to apply. Schedule Competitive team practices primarily take place during weekday afternoon and evening hours. Candidates who can consistently assist multiple days each week are strongly preferred. Additional opportunities may become available within our recreational, developmental and competitive programs for the right individual. Compensation Competitive compensation based upon coaching experience, technical knowledge, certifications and the scope of the position.
