Job Description

If you love working with people and are passionate about aquatics, we'd love to talk to you! We are currently looking to hire a non-certified swim instructor to come and join our team. Our goal is to help children and adults of all ages develop proper swimming techniques and skills under the American Red Cross curriculum. The swim instructor aide will be able to assist in evaluating each student's performance during swim sessions and provide feedback, complete attendance and update progress skills on a day to day basis. Swim Instructor aides always work under the supervision of a Red Cross-certified Water Safety Instructor. To be successful as a swim instructor aide, you should demonstrate patience and enthusiasm and be able to motivate students to accomplish their swimming goals. Ultimately, an exceptional swim instructor aide should be able to communicate effectively with students and ensure that all water safety rules are adhered to. Development/Advancement Opportunities If applicants are at least 15-years-old and demonstrate potential as a Swim Instructor, paid training to become a Red Cross-certified Water Safety Instructor will be provided.
Swim Instructor Aide Responsibilities:
Assisting Swim Instructors teach students swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules with varying swimming abilities under the American Red Cross curriculum. Assisting more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities. Assessing the progress of students. Monitoring students to prevent accidents and injuries. Ensure a safe, engaging, and educational experience for students. Interact with the student's parent or guardian on their progress. Enthusiastic attitude to ensure a fun time for all involved.
Requirements:
At least 14 years of age. Previous experience working with children is preferred. Aquatic background preferred, but not required. Sundays
REQUIRED.
Qualifications:
Ability to positively interact with the public. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Positive attitude with the commitment to excellence. Ability to follow directions well. Be able to swim. Ability to work independently and exhibit energy and enthusiasm.
Job Types:
Part-time, Seasonal Pay:
$14.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 5.0 - 10.0 per week
