This full-time position is ideal for someone who is committed to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. The ideal candidate will work closely with the head coach to develop players' skills, promote teamwork, and instill a strong work ethic both on and off the court. Responsibilities Assist the head coach in planning and implementing daily practices, game strategies, and training sessions. Support the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, ensuring a positive experience for all participants. Provide individual and team instruction in basketball fundamentals, techniques, and strategies. Monitor student-athlete academic performance and promote a balance between athletics and academics. Help organize and manage team logistics, including travel arrangements, equipment inventory, and scheduling. Foster a culture of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork among players. Collaborate with other coaching staff, athletic department personnel, and parents to support the overall goals of the program. Assist in scouting opponents and analyzing game footage to improve team performance. Attend staff meetings, coaching clinics, and professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills. Uphold the values and mission of Bethany High School and the athletic program at all times. Requirements Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required by practice and game schedules. Must pass a background check and comply with all school and district policies. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
