Immediately Job Description Coaching positions require work prior to the actual OSAA season. All preseason work is included in the stipend that will be paid as outlined in the HR Coaches Agreement.
COMPENSATION
Stipend amount $5,905.23, paid at the end of the OSAA season.
SUMMARY:
To encourage and support our KU Student-Athletes in achieving a high level of skill and athleticism, developing an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and promoting an increased level of self-esteem.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Emphasises the importance for all of our KU Student-Athletes to be Character-Driven, Academically-Focused, and Consistently Competitive; Supports a comprehensive year-round program that facilitates athlete and program growth; Contributes as a supervising coach for the KU Summer and Off-Season Strength & Conditioning program; Promotes multi-sport athletes and supports all KU sports and activities; Actively recruits potential athletes who are not involved in another in-season sport; Models responsible behavior on and off campus; Maintains accurate statistics, records, and results of the season; Implements clear behavior expectations and guidelines and holds our student-athletes accountable; Maintains competency in the rules, procedures, coaching techniques, and general information about the sport; Works with the Head Coach on the following: Creating a clear vision for the future of the program; Building the annual competition schedule; Recommending equipment and supply purchases; Distributing, tracking, and collecting uniforms; Maintaining accurate attendance and grade reports to hold our student-athletes accountable; Managing team fundraising efforts; Developing a consistent communications system to inform players, parents, and the general public about program details; Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Attends and supervises all program-related activities; Oversees the safety conditions of the playing facilities; Reports directly to the Head Coach regarding any concerns relating to KU Athletics. EDUCATION and
EXPERIENCE
Experience in coaching, strength & conditioning, and program development; Required OSAA Certifications and Training Courses, Certifications in First Aid and CPR/AED preferred.
