Job Description

The Volleyball Institute is looking for energetic, encouraging, dependable people to help coach beginner youth volleyball in Medford. This is an Assistant Coach opportunity within Foundations, TVI's program for young athletes learning volleyball in a positive, structured environment. Advanced volleyball knowledge is helpful, but it is not the most important requirement. We can teach the volleyball. We are looking for people who bring energy, connect well with kids, accept coaching, and consistently show up. Pilot schedule 8 weeks beginning September 13, 2026 Sundays, 4-6 PM at Santo Community Center Wednesdays, 6-8 PM at Rogue X Candidates may be available for one or both days What you will do Assist with beginner volleyball sessions for athletes ages 7-10 Help create a high-energy, encouraging environment Support the Lead Coach and help athletes stay engaged Arrive prepared, communicate clearly, and follow TVI's coaching system Who should apply Energetic, dependable people who enjoy working with kids Former high school coaches, athletes, teachers, youth leaders, and similar candidates Volleyball experience is helpful, but strong energy, enthusiasm, coachability, and commitment matter more Must be able to reliably travel to Medford program locations Pay and growth $20 per on-court hour while serving as an Assistant Coach Coaches who prove they can lead sessions may advance to $40 per on-court hour Strong trainers may also access TVI private training, small-group training, and other opportunities with pay reaching $100+ per hour How selection works Complete a short application Qualified applicants receive a brief video-response request Selected candidates complete agreements and required onboarding before accessing TVI Academy content or coaching sessions This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity.
