OF DUTIES
Coach wrestling at the middle school level. Build 7 12 wrestling program under direction of Head High School Wrestling Coach. Plan and conduct practices focusing on skill development, conditioning, and wrestling fundamentals. Regularly assess players' skills and conference with families, as necessary, regarding the athletic performance of their student. Communicate effectively with players, families, administration, and other coaches. Establish and maintain standards of athlete behavior and provide proper supervision of athletes at all times. Act as a team and WDSD representative and exemplify sportsmanship, maintaining appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators. Work with the Head High School Coach to determine appropriate training program to prepare athletes for the next level. Assist in the facilitation of the summer camp.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of wrestling skills; knowledge, experience and ability to effectively perform the duties of a Coach as stated in the District Coaches Handbook/Head Coaching Responsibilities; ability to satisfactorily perform all physical requirements of assigned tasks with or without reasonable accommodation; previous successful experience at the high school level or higher; clear direction, goals, and objectives for program success under the umbrella of the high school coach; history of positive influence and interactions with players, coaches, support groups and parents; ability to communicate effectively with parents, administration, players and staff; ability to work with community youth programs; hold or ability to acquire a First Aid/CPR card; hold or ability to acquire ASEP/NFHS, concussion and steroid training.
