BASIC PURPOSE
This position is paid via stipend: $4,000.00
  • This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances.
  • This Position requires a pre-employment drug screening test as a condition of employment.
Part Time casual Employees are hired on a seasonal basis during peak periods, may serve a maximum of four consecutive months (i.e. summer/fall enrollment peak) and are limited to a maximum of 25 hours per week. General Description The assistant coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in all team matters. The assistant coach must actively promote the college and its programs, assist in developing fundraising activities, and recruit students for the college and the intercollegiate athletic program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties:
The coach will assist by:
  • Assisting in the organization and administration of the team
  • Enforcing he rules of the game for the particular spot
  • Assisting in planning and conducting all practice sessions
  • Being the Assistant coach at all home and away games
  • Driving student athletes in rental vans to and from competitions
  • Understanding, promoting, and applying the philosophy of the intercollegiate athletic program at Montgomery County Community College
  • Always setting a good example for the students to follow, and promoting the highest level of good sportsmanship
  • Counseling and possibly reprimanding students who display unsportsmanlike or unacceptable behavior, such as using drugs and alcohol on campus prior to, during, and following practice sessions and games
  • Actively recruiting high school students in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania
  • Cooperative with the Athletic Trainer/medical coverage in evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating injuries
  • Performing other tasks assigned by the Director of Athletics
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED in conjunction with previous coaching experience required; associate's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and NJCAA rules and compliance
