Job Description

Assistant Tennis Coach Job Description Cedarbrook Country Club is looking for an energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Assistant Tennis Coach. This seasonal position is ideal for someone who has a passion for tennis, enjoys working with children, and is interested in helping young players develop their skills in a positive, fun, and encouraging environment. The Assistant Tennis Coach will work alongside the Club's tennis professionals and coaching staff to assist with junior tennis clinics, lessons, practices, and other tennis programming throughout the season. Key Responsibilities Assist with coaching and supervising junior tennis players of various ages and skill levels. Support the Head Tennis Professional and coaching staff during clinics, lessons, practices, and other tennis programming. Help lead age-appropriate drills focused on fundamentals, technique, footwork, match play, and overall player development. Provide encouragement and individual instruction to help players improve their skills and confidence. Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, proper tennis etiquette, and a positive attitude. Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging environment for all participants. Assist with setting up and breaking down courts, tennis balls, training aids, and other equipment before and after programming. Help supervise players during practices, matches, and tennis-related activities. Communicate professionally and positively with players, parents, fellow coaches, and Club staff. Assist with other tennis and racquets programming as needed. Qualifications & Skills Previous tennis playing experience required. Prior coaching, teaching, or experience working with children is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of basic tennis rules, fundamentals, and techniques. Enthusiastic, patient, dependable, and committed to creating a positive experience for junior players. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a coaching team. Ability to work outdoors and remain active for extended periods of time. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus; training may be provided. Schedule Tennis programming is primarily held Monday-Friday 3pm-8pm.
