  • Mansfield Campus Help Build the Next Generation of Skilled Trades Professionals Commonwealth University is seeking an experienced Part-Time Skilled Trades Training Instructor to help develop and deliver workforce training programs at our Mansfield campus.
We are initially seeking expertise in welding , with future opportunities in construction, manufacturing, and other skilled trades. Description of Duties Develop and deliver hands-on skilled trades training programs. Assist with building new workforce training offerings that meet regional employer needs. Teach safe work practices and industry-recognized skills. Create a positive, engaging learning environment for adult learners. Work with local employers and university staff to ensure training aligns with workforce demands. Decision Making Fiscal Responsibility Supervisory Responsibility Minimum Requirements Profile Five or more years of industry experience in welding, construction, manufacturing, or a related skilled trade (welding experience preferred). Strong technical skills and commitment to workplace safety. Excellent communication and mentoring abilities. Prior teaching or training experience is a plus but not required. Preferred Qualifications Current NHA certification(s) ( CCMA , CPT , and/or CBCS ). Previous experience teaching or training in a classroom setting. Familiarity with adult education principles and workforce training.
